California Gambling Treatment Services Program

The Office of Problem Gambling (OPG) in partnership with UCLA Gambling Studies Program (UGSP) is currently recruiting licensed therapists to participate in the California Problem Gambling Treatment Service Program (CPGTSP). To become an authorized provider in the CPGTSP therapists are required to attend state-funded training focusing on the treatment of problem and pathological gamblers.

The Office of Problem Gambling has scheduled training dates for the California Problem Gambling Treatment Services Program (CPGTSP).

The free training dates are:

  • Los Angeles: October 21-24
  • San Francisco: November 18-21
  • Sacramento: December 16-19
  • San Diego: January 20-23

Training will consist of four eight hour training days, and will provide the opportunity to obtain 30 Continuing Education Units’ (CEU). Therapists who meet eligibility criteria may submit an application to UGSP for admittance into training. Due to limited space, admittance into the trainings will be on a first come first serve basis.

Witness Justice Announces New Discussion Forum

Witness Justice Announces the Launch of a New Discussion Forum: Trauma-Informed Ethics Promoting Hope & Embracing Healing

You are invited to join a web-based forum on the development of trauma-informed ethics, in partnership with Witness Justice, the National Association of Peer Specialists, and the US Department of Justice's Office of Violence Against Women.

This forum is designed as an interactive tool for discussion and learning amongst a virtual community on how ethical standards similar to the Hippocratic Oath can be used to integrate a trauma-informed approach across systems. Areas for discussion include the ways trauma-informed ethics provides a vehicle for sustaining health care reform across systems that promotes wellness and is responsive to the needs of trauma survivors and that can be applied to any setting, system and level of practice.
