Caring For Foster Youth Project

The CIMH Caring for Foster Youth Project, funded through grants by the Zellerbach Family Fund, was developed to assist county child serving agencies to meet legislative requirements established in 1998 (SB 933) regarding mental health services and foster youth, and to support the development of specialized mental health services for this population. Completed in 2002, this project, working with stakeholders in the foster youth service system, developed mental health screening instruments designed to be utilized by non-mental health professionals to assist with the identification of foster youth most in need of assessment for mental health services, as well as training and technical assistance regarding science-based research and mental health services for foster youth.Caring for Foster Youth Project
