Mental Health Boards and Commissions
Two levels of trainings are being made available to local mental health boards and commissions: regional and individual board trainings. The regional trainings are designed to address board/commission roles and functioning with an emphasis on board/commission members interacting with each other to help become more effective.
Individual board/commission training is designed to help a single board/commission operationalize the mandated roles and duties within a particular system of care. Each year 12 counties are selected to receive this four-part training. The first, third, and fourth sessions are held in conjunction with regular monthly board/commission meetings. The second session is a daylong retreat at which the board/commission plans activities and goals for the upcoming year and addresses any individual issues relevant to that particular board/commission.
